Richard Floyd Hancock

October 3, 1945 ~ November 21, 2018 (age 73)

 

Richard F. Hancock 73 of Troy Twp. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday November 21, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1945 in East Cleveland to the late Floyd and Katherine (Kotnik) Hancock.  He graduated from Berkshire High School in 1963.  Richard was a truck driver for Distron (Burger King) and Yellow Freight, until he retired in 2007, where he received many safe driving awards. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #24. He enjoyed retirement which included doing things like spending time with family, friends, and his dog Cricket. Richard loved traveling, watching Ohio State football, walking in parks with his dog, and his breakfasts and coffee with friends at local restaurants. 

He will be sadly missed by his family; his loving daughters, Kerri (Jake) Brent of Troy, Becky (Brian) Turner of Dundee, Oregon, three grandchildren, Anna, Paul, Oliver, his sister, Kathleen Marlow of Port Townsend, WA, and his brother Jim (Susan) Hancock of Lakeland, FL. He was loved by his nieces and nephews, Diana, Lori, Jared, Tom, Nick, and Sara.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, November 26, 2018 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, OH 44062. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd, Newbury Township, OH 44065, with Father Jay McPhillips officiating.
