Ralph E. Miller, 71, passed away June 27, 2018 at his home in Auburn Township. He was born April 13, 1947 in Waynesburg, PA to the late William J. and Elizabeth J. (Helmuth) Miller. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Newbury American Legion Post 663.
In addition to being a true patriot, he is fondly remembered for his caring heart and his unique ability to capture attention from kids, animals and all who loved him. Ralph was blessed with an intelligent mind and enjoyed tuning into one of his favorite shows, Jeopardy, as the fourth contestant. He could often be found playing his guitar or singing karaoke to his favorite country songs.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Hurley and Susan Garner; nieces and nephews who looked up to their uncle as “Big Brother”; companion, Linda Swaney and their dog, Trix. In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Miller and William J. Miller Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 16, 2018 at RUSSELL-SLY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, Ohio 44062. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
