Nick R. Loze

April 2, 1933 ~ January 21, 2018 (age 84)

Nick R. Loze 84, lifelong resident of Huntsburg and Middlefield, Ohio, passed away on January 21, 2018 at University Cleveland Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on April 2, 1933, son of Max and Rose Loza of Huntsburg, OH.  Nick attended Huntsburg Schools. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America.  He married the love of his life, Natalie (French) Loze on February 27, 1959.

After high school, he enrolled in the military, and served during the Cold War from 1956-1958 in the Army 5th Infantry Regiment, and was stationed in Germany.  After he returned from the service, he worked at Johnson Rubber on 3rd Shift, and then worked at his trucking business during the day to support his growing family. Nick’s Trucking & Sons was a well-known name in Geauga and surrounding counties.  In his final years, you could still find Nick working for his trucking company six days per week.

He loved telling stories and jokes as well as socializing with his friends at Linda’s Restaurant.  He enjoyed playing the lottery, and he was always looking for the Golden Ticket to share with his children.  He loved to barter in exchange for vehicles, tractors and other equipment; you never knew what he might bring home.

Nick was a special man that would help anyone in need.  He was the most caring, compassionate, and loving man to his family, friends and relatives.  He was loved by many, and will be missed dearly.

Nick is survived by his five children, Penny (Bob) Shook of Parkman, Nita (Rich) Judd of Huntsburg, Nick Jr. (Tina) Loze of Canfield, Tim (Denise) Loze of Huntsburg, and Chris (Maria) Loze, also of Huntsburg, brother, Max Loze of Middlefield, 20 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie, his parents, 3 sisters, Anna Toth, Mary Parnaby, and Helen Loze, and 4 brothers, John Loze, Mike Loza, Steve Loza, and Richard Loza.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life, will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St. Middlefield, OH 44062.
