Michael Allen Detweiler, 45 went to be with God on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Michael was born April 9, 1972 in Elyria, Ohio. He attended Berkshire High School. He loved raising his dogs and was a Boy Scout Troop leader. Since he was 18 years old, he was a salesman for Burton Sheet Metal for 25 years.
Michael is survived by his loving parents; Enos and Mary Jane Detweiler; his biological mother Dorothy Ramsey; his children, Stephen, Larry, Morgan, and Anna; two sisters Lindsay and Jennifer; and two brothers Kevin(Christine) and David. Michael was a loving uncle to Kevin Detweiler Jr, Joseph Detweiler, Justin Detweiler, Ethan Detweiler, Alyssa Detweiler; loving nephew to Irene (Roger) Howe, Liz (Pete) Petersen, Linda (William) Yoder, Dan (Gail) Detweiler, Clarellen (Robert) Gillham, Vlad (Holly) Omas, and John Omas.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dan and Clara Detweiler and John and Mary Omas.
The family wishes to thank hospice of Western Reserve staff for their kind and compassionate care that they gave to Michael.
Calling hours will be 4:30-8:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. His Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Funeral home. Burial will follow at Slitor Cemetery.
