Lloyd T. Williams, 69, a longtime resident of Parkman, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born on February 8, 1949 in Cleveland, son of Lloyd T. and Victoria (Pozar) Williams. He was a graduate of Solon High School and attended Cuyahoga Community College. Lloyd married Marie Skitzki April 30, 1976 and moved to Parkman in 1976. He was a machinist at Swagelok Co. in Solon and retired in 2014.
He was a parishioner at St. Edward Catholic Church in Parkman where he served as an usher. He had many hobbies, including winemaking, raising pigeons, chickens, and honey bees. He loved horses and all animals. He was a leader of a 4-H poultry club and was instrumental in starting the Geauga Co. Jr. Fair poultry program in the 1980’s. Lloyd also loved tropical fish and served on the board of directors for Youngstown Area Tropical Fish Society. He especially loved volunteering support for his sons’ activities at Cardinal Schools, including marching band, concerts, and cross country. He was an active member of the Cardinal Music Boosters and later volunteered at Jordak Elementary School. He will be missed dearly.
Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife Marie of 42 years; his loving sons, David and Thomas Williams; his brother-in-law Ray (Sandy) Skitzki; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Gerald and Robert Skitzki; and his sister-in law, Marlene Skitzki.
Calling hours will be held at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, OH 44062, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and then on Wednesday, May 23rd, 10:00-11:00 AM before the Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Edward Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman, OH 44080. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery Chardon, Ohio.
