Lee “Willie” Malensek, 84 of Burton passed away Saturday November 3, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born on September 14, 1934 in Claridon, son of the late Louis and Frances (Otonicar) Malensek. Lee was a graduate of Burton High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served 1957-1959. He was a carpenter for Malensek Construction and a member of Carpenter's Union Local 21. His hobbies included building things for his family, gardening and taking care of the flower beds.
Lee was married on August 16, 1958 to the love of his life, Barbara (Ferry) Malensek. They were married 58 years before she passed away January 29, 2017.
His family and friends will miss him dearly; his five children, Teddy Lee (Carol), Doug (Kim), Randell, Robert (Stacy), and Roberta (Mike) Garling; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara; three sisters, Ursula Potochnik, Christina Kay Simmons, Ann Ferry; and six brothers, Lewis, Stanley, Frank, Martin, Matthew and Charles Malensek.
Calling hours will be 10:00 AM until his Celebration of Life at 12:00 Noon, Thursday November 8, 2018 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Burial will follow at Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristol Township.
