Herman Mullola, 65, of Mentor, passed away at Lake West May 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 27, 1952 in Chardon, Ohio. He was the son of Heimo and Blanche (Barclay) Mullola. Herman was married to the love of his life, Joanie (Benedict) Mullola for 25 years. “Their” favorite song was “Love of a Lifetime”. Herman worked for Burns Security for many years prior to his retirement. He was a tech guy and extremely computer literate. He loved Star Trek, classic rock, golfing, strumming his guitar, and waffles and milkshakes at Belle’s restaurant. Herman enjoyed motorcycle riding, walks at Mentor Headland’s with his wife, and was known as a comedian and practical joker.
He loved his family with his whole heart and will be deeply missed.
Herman is survived by his wife Joanie Mullola, his step-son Matt (Morgan) Benedict, and sisters Betty Ann (Kenneth) Peterson and Jean (Ross) Summers, and two grandchildren Ashlynn Benedict and Reece Benedict. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a memorial service at the Pilgrim Lutheran Brethren Church, 9514 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Mentor, on June 15, 2018. Memorial calling hours begin at 9:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Robert Heggestad will be officiating.
