Gloria Ruby Chrzan of Troy Township passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 20, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born October 31, 1927 in Whitesville, New York to the late Dudley Seaver and Julia Sherman Ainsworth Zinn.
During World War II she contributed to the war effort by building radio components. After working as a teaching hairdresser in her own business for a number of years, she became an LPN, graduating valedictorian of her class at Saint Francis School of Nursing in Olean, New York. She married the love of her life, Henry Chrzan on January 23, 1954. Most of the time she was a great mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Before moving to Ohio, Gloria was an active member of Grace Christian Missionary Alliance Church and served in the Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship in Olean, New York. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, knitting, sketching and reading poetry, but most of all was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Henry J. Chrzan, dear children Cindy (John) Rothenbuhler of Chagrin Falls, Nancy (Kevin) Picha of Rockwall, TX , Michael (Leslie) Chrzan of Redondo Beach, California, and Carl (Kathy) Chrzan of Burton. Grandchildren include: Jason, Hans, Nicole, Julia, Andrew, Hannah, John, Josiah, Samuel, Caleb, and Cameron, great grandchildren: Andrew, Rudi, and one little girl on the way.
She has a sister Dorothy (John) Pastalenic of Arkport, New York. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Seaver.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Parkside Church, 7100 Pettibone Rd. Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Family will be receiving friends from 1:45-2:45 pm prior to the service. A private burial will be held in Middlefield Cemetery.
