Abraham “Abe” Gingerich, 83, of Middlefield, passed away at home, October 19, 2018, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born March 17, 1935 in Burton to the late Amos and Ida (Yoder) Gingerich. He worked in construction building homes. He loved to travel in his motorhome with his wife Betty Lou. They visited every State in the US except for two. He also loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Lou (Yoder) Gingerich, his children David Gingerich, of Franklin, NC, his daughter Cheri (Tom) Detweiler of Huntsburg, his brothers and sisters Melburn Gingerich, Ada Mullet, Susan Borntrager, Amos Gingerich, Barb Yoder, Ruth Detweiler, Paul Gingerich, grandchildren Julie (Oliver) Ludlow, Randy (Jessica) Detweiler, Rodney Detweiler, and great-grandchildren Emberlyn Ludlow, Dakota Ludlow, Marlie Ludlow, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Owen Gingerich, Alan Gingerich, and Bill Gingerich.
Calling hours will be from 10:00AM -12:00 PM, Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at New Mercies Church, 12767 Butternut Rd., Burton, Ohio 44021. Funeral service will follow at 12:00. He will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
