Genevieve L. Dewey, 96 of Streetsboro, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Gardens of Western Reserve. She was born on April 21, 1921 in Geneva, Ohio, daughter of the late Don and Nellie (Wright) Myers. Genevieve was a longtime resident of the area until she moved to New Jersey in 1976 for 25 years and moving back to Middlefield. She was a graduate of Andrew School for Girls. When she was 55 years old, she retired as a nursing assistant for Hamlet Hills Nursing Home in Chagrin Falls. Genevieve was married to Louis Fanyon in 1942. He passed away in 1969. She married William S Dewey May 29, 1976. She was a former member of the Auburn Community Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed knitting and donated her work at Gardens of Western Reserve to the local Fire Department. Her family and friends will miss her.
Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Nancy Cline of Middlefield and Jenny Waller of Scottsdale, AZ; three grandchildren, Rebecca Montgomery of Phoenix, AZ, Chrissty Tryon of Andover, Carey Yancey of Girard; and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband Louis Fanyon; her second husband William S Dewey; her son Louis Fanyon II; her parents; and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Calling hours will be held 10:30 AM until the Celebration of Life at 11:30 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Burial will follow at Shadyside (Auburn Corners) Cemetery in Auburn.
