Forrest Charles Klingman, 95, of Middlefield, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Tidwell Hospice in Bradenton, Fla. Forrest was spending the winter in Parrish, Fla., with his son Richard and wife Barbara. Forrest was born on Aug. 18, 1921 in Cleveland, to Fred and Bertha Klingman, and lived most of his life in Middlefield. Forrest is survived by his wife, Anna (nee Davis), of 24 years; sons, Dennis (Deborah) Klingman and Richard (Barbara) Klingman, both born to his first wife, Ola Mae Klingman, who passed in 1990; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Forrest and Anna were lifetime members of the First United Methodist Church of Middlefield. He served in World War II as a Navy Sea Bee in the South Pacific and 17 years as police chief in Middlefield. He was a Mason and Shiner member, and a member of Burton American Legion and Middlefield VFW. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.
Memorial Calling hours will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 and 5:00 until time of Memorial Service, which will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street Middlefield, Ohio 44062. Pastor Erv Urschitz will be officiating. A private burial will be held at Middlefield Cemetery.
