Elizabeth T. Hadlock, 87, long time resident of Burton, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her home. She was born on October 15, 1930 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Mulligan) Ropes. Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Ohio State University. She married Kenneth F. Hadlock and lived in Burton 46 years before he died April 26, 2014. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Elizabeth enjoyed making pottery. She was a member of Geauga County Art Association and Geauga Hills Garden Club. She also did taxi driving for the Amish in the area. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children; Chris Trebing of Burton, Paul (Carey) Hadlock of Jefferson, Cathy Davis and Carol Miller, both of Burton; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; her sister Peg Tamberell; her brother Ed (Rosemary) Ropes; and her sister-in-law Ann Ropes. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her parents; and her brother Chuck Ropes.
Calling hours will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 6, 2018 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, OH 44065. Please meet at the church.
