Edward StaszkoMay 10, 1928 ~ October 31, 2017 (age 89)
Edward Staszko, 89, longtime resident of West Farmington, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Lantern of Chagrin Valley in Chagrin Falls. He was born May 10, 1928 in Colebrook, son of the late Alexander and Antonia (Jastraub) Staszko. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. Edward married Veronica Klima on September 6, 1952. They were married 60 years before she passed away April 10, 2013; and now “they are together again.” Edward retired April 1, 1994 from General Motors Fisher Fab Plant after 30 years in the tow motor department. He was a workaholic; enjoyed keeping busy by gardening, working in the yard; and making model airplanes. He especially enjoyed being around his family and grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
Edward is survived by his loving three daughters, Marie Shipek of Concord, Deborah Lynch of Newton Falls, and Helen Goff of Middlefield; five grandchildren, Justin (Kayleigh) Staszko, Jessica Goff, Tom (Brittani) Shipek, Ryan (Amy) Lynch, Patrick Lynch; and five great grandchildren, Dominic Staszko, Skyler Shipek, Addyson Shipek, Olivia Lynch, and Julianna Lynch. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Veronica; his parents; five brothers, John, Joe, Stanley, Tony, and Ted Staszko; and his three sisters, Helen Imburgia, Stella Rose Staszko,and Stella Seyer.
Calling hours will be held 2:00-4:00 PM with a Celebration of his life following at 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. Pastor Mike Continenza will officiate.
