Dona Dawn (Tubbs) Morrow

January 20, 1936 ~ November 25, 2017 (age 81)

Dona Dawn Morrow, age 81 passed with Peace and Grace on Saturday, November 25, 2017, following a brief episode of pneumonia at Chardon Health Care Center in Ohio.

Dona was born in the comfort of her parents home in 1936, Turtlepoint, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite E. (Stickles) and Father Kenneth E. Tubbs of Port Allegany, PA. Dona graduated from Port Allegany High School (PAHS) in 1953, where she was active in clubs, Band, and Cheerleading. She went on to study at the Carnegie Institute of Medical Laboratory School in Cleveland, Ohio, and Internship at Meadville Hospital, PA, graduating in 1955. While in Cleveland Dona also met and married Richard (Dick) F. Morrow, where they raised three children for 17 years.

She was a dedicated and loyal worker to many, retiring at age 70 from Goodwill Industries of Cleveland after 20 years of service.

Dona loved drawing, sunny days at the beach, camping with family, dancing with friends, and ALL of her pets, from her first dog Frisky to her surviving pooch Cody. She had excellent fashion sense to the very end, earning the title of, ‘BEST DRESSED Resident 2017’ at the facility she lived.  Every holiday she loved and spent hours decorating the house to perfection, with Christmas being her favorite time of year.

 

Dona was a solid, loving and caring Mother to her 3 surviving children, Kenneth, Susan (Chuck) Hardee living in Middlefield, Ohio, and Scott (Theresa) of Cincinnati, Ohio. (She was preceded in death by her most thoughtful and caring daughter-in-law, Teresa E. Morrow). Grandmother of 3 surviving grandchildren, Erika and Dana Hardee of Middlefield, Ohio and Christopher Morrow of Madison, Wisconsin. Her Sister Dorothy Rodi (Dottie) of Tunjunga, California, 1 niece Terri (Gregg) Stair, 3 nephews, Stephen (Sandy) Rodi, Michael (Raelene) Rodi, Jonathan Rodi, and several Great Nieces and Nephews all in residing in California.

The family will celebrate Dona’s life privately at a later date to be determined. She will be laid to rest next to her parents at McKean Memorial Park in Lafayette Township, PA. 

Dona will always be remembered for her love, laughter and devotion, by everyone she met through life.  Her beautiful smile will forever shine the brightest in our memories.
