Cheryl Ann (Springer) MerryfieldAugust 29, 1960 ~ December 15, 2017 (age 57)
After 57 years of living life to the fullest, Cheryl Ann (Springer) Merryfield left for a new adventure on Friday, December 15, 2017. She was at peace and in the loving presence of her family. An employee of Kraftmaid Cabinetry for 30 years, she accepted a new position as a guardian angel for her granddaughter, Emme. As you read this, she wants you to know that she is dancing in the rain with a margarita in hand, and she hopes that you will do the same when you think of her.
Cheryl’s life began on August 29, 1960 in East Claridon, Ohio with her parents, Barbara Ann (Eltringham) and Burdette Springer and her brother, Randy. In 1990, she married her husband Mark and became Brooke’s Mom. Cheryl’s presence was like glitter—everything she touched sparkled a little more in her hands. She had a knack for gift giving and party throwing, and her greatest talent was the art of friendship. She enjoyed camping and hiking with Mark, collecting seashells on the beach with her toes in the sand, and celebrating life over boat drinks with friends. She believed in magic and looked forward to introducing Emme to the gnomes and fairies who live in her garden.
Cheryl’s magic will live on through her loved ones, especially her husband and soulmate, Mark Merryfield of Middlefield, OH; her daughter Brooke (Reggie) Merryfield Rios of Los Angeles, CA; her granddaughter Hope Emma Rios (Emme) of Los Angeles, CA; her brother Randy (Barbara) Springer of East Claridon, OH; her nieces Melanie Springer of East Claridon, OH and Jennifer Springer of Concord, OH; her bestie, Cherrie Smith Kinney of Auburndale, FL; and the many family members and friends whom she loved fiercely. This year, she will celebrate Christmas with her parents, Barbara and Burdette, who passed on before her and whom she missed dearly.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home. Friends and family may call from 1:00-3:00 pm, with a ceremony to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Geauga County Dog Shelter,12513 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
And the next time it rains, you know what to do!
