Berniece Phipps 93 of Burton passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Burton Health Care Center.
She was born February 3, 1924 in Pleasant City, Ohio to John and Irene (Fetcho) Repasky. After Berniece graduated from Auburn High School she started working for Perfection Stove in Cleveland. After she married Wayne Phipps she assisted him with his roofing business and raised their son Johnny. She was employed in the Human Resource Department at UHHS Geauga Hospital for many years. When she retired she was a Volunteer at the hospital and also volunteered for her favorite charity, the March of Dimes. She liked to help care for others and was an asset to her community. Berniece was a dog lover and had many pet Yorkie’s.
Berniece was preceded in death by her dear husband Wayne Phipps, her parents, step mother Helen Repasky, brothers John and Michael Repasky, sisters Irene Valentine, Mary Lou Allyn, step-sister Barbara Long, and sister-in-law Jacqueline Repasky. She is survived by her loving son, Wayne “Johnny” John Phipps, step sisters Marge Overman and Martha Miller and brother Jim (Lavonne) Repasky, and two grandchildren Brian and Regan Phipps.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017 Century Village Museum church, 14653 E. Park ST. Burton, OH. 44021.
A private graveside service will be held in Shadyside Cemetery, Auburn Ohio at a later date.
